Well friends, the invasion that is Bonnaroo officially continues TODAY! Expect heavy traffic delays and thousands of new neighbors for the next week!
For those of you camping, please follow these few simple tips to make your stay more enjoyable:
1. Keep designated fire lanes clear. This not only allows us to navigate the site quickly and safely, but allows you to leave festival grounds in the event of a personal emergency. Firefighters will move your tents and/or have vehicles towed.
2. No open fires are allowed on festival grounds. Small grills for cooking are allowed. Ensure the grill is cool to the touch before leaving it unattended.
3. Sky lanterns (aka Chinese or Wish Lanterns) are illegal for the general public's use in Tennessee. Only licensed pyrotechnicians can operate sky lanterns here. Leave them at home.
4. Be aware of carbon monoxide dangers. Fresh air intakes on RV's should be located away from neighboring exhaust. Ensure your RV has a working CO detector installed. Only run your vehicle in a well ventilated area with no one camping or sitting near the exhaust. Carbon monoxide is a silent killer.
5. Please move to the far right side of the roadway for ALL emergency vehicles. (Yes, this includes you pedestrians!) Emergency responses can change dramatically in 30 seconds, you slowing the emergency responders down by walking or driving in the road could be that 30 second delay.
6. HYDRATE! Temperatures are expected to be in the mid to upper 90’s later this week with index values cresting 100°. These are dangerous temperatures. Please start drinking WATER now and do not stop until you leave the site. Your body will be losing fluids constantly sitting in the heat. Please replace it with cool water throughout your stay!
We officially make the transition to Bonnaroo Fire Department today (rest assured we will still respond promptly to emergencies in the remainder of our area). Stay hydrated and have a great week friends!
HAPPY ROO!
