Saying goodbye is one of the hardest things we do in life. It breaks our hearts to let everyone know that we, as a family, have decided to retire Stitt Barn Preservation. Mark Stitt was an incredibly gifted craftsman and barnwright. He had so much knowledge and was always eager to pass it on to others. We would like to honor his legacy, his passion of barns and people.

If you have a picture of a barn that Mark worked on or have a great memory to share, we would love to see and hear them. We miss him every day and cherish the memories we have. Please share your memories with us.

It is with a broken heart that we let you know of the death of Mark Stitt on Thursday the 27th. Mark passed away in a work related accident. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Mark loved what he did and barns were his legacy. We are not making any business plans or decisions right now. Thank you for your understanding and patients as we navigate these upcoming weeks.

Thank you,

We have had an abundance of rain this spring and fighting the weather is always tricky. We have all of the siding installed and the sheeting for the roof is going on.

This last month we have been working on assembling a barn in Jackson, MI. This barn was dissembled at a different location, moved and reassembled on at this new location. We poured a new foundation and you can see the assembly of the original barn structure. Would you like a barn moved and relocated to your property? Do you have any questions on how a barn is moved?

We finished up the week by adding white pine siding to the addition on the South end of the barn.
