Here’s a little color science: we don’t actually see color independently—we see the light it reflects. 👀

That’s why these exact same paint samples look warmer, cooler, creamier, or grayer depending on the lighting.

A little designer knowledge:
💡 2700K bulbs = warmer/yellower
💡 3000K bulbs = warm, but more neutral
💡 4000K+ bulbs = cooler/bluer
☀️ North-facing light tends to pull cool
☀️ South-facing light tends to enhance warmth

And here’s the part most people don’t realize: designers pay just as much attention to the undertone of a color as the color itself. Lighting can pull out pink, green, yellow, blue, or violet undertones you didn’t even know were there.

It doesn’t stop at paint, either. Fabric, wood, rugs and upholstery all react to light. 🛋️

So before deciding a color is “wrong,” check your lighting. Sometimes the undertone you hate isn’t coming from the color—it’s being revealed by the light. 💡

And as for why we’re studying these particular colors so closely… 👀

Let’s just say these paint samples are a very small part of a very big project happening inside Allen Furniture right now.

It’s all in the details. Same sofa. Same chair. But look at what the right pillows can do.

Our friend (Candyce’s Cousin Wendy🫶🏻) at Interior Creations added the custom green pillows to this setting, and they completely changed the look—richer, more intentional, and perfectly finished. It’s proof that you don’t always need to change the whole room to make a big impact.

Custom drapes, pillows, and those finishing touches are where Interior Creations shines. Sue & Wendy (Mother/Daughter Dynamic Duo) have been customizing homes and working with designers for over 30 years. We love getting to pair beautiful furniture with beautiful work from another local business. 🤍

Delivery Driver / Floor Associate

Allen Furniture is looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team as a Delivery Driver/Floor Associate. Customer service is our #1 priority, so we’re looking for someone who is friendly, professional, and committed to providing every customer with a great experience.

Responsibilities include:

Safely delivering and setting up furniture in customers’ homes
Loading and unloading furniture
Assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner
Assembling furniture using basic hand and power tools
Helping move, arrange, and maintain furniture on the showroom floor
Keeping the delivery truck, warehouse, and work areas clean and organized
Assisting with other daily store duties as needed

Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age or older
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Ability to safely lift and move heavy furniture
Comfortable and capable of using basic hand and power tools
Strong customer service and communication skills
Dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team
Furniture delivery or assembly experience is helpful but not required

Schedule: Five days per week, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with alternating Saturdays.

Compensation: $35,000 per year
