Ten years ago this month we started Gray Fox Design Works with a few hand planes and some heavy instagram filters.

We are very proud of the work we have completed over the last decade! It’s been a real privilege to work with some truely talented crafts people and trade partners over the years. We have learned so much together.

Furthermore, we are so thankful for the wonderful clients we have had the pleasure of working with. Thanks for trusting us with your projects, inviting us into your homes/spaces and letting us be part of your dreams!

We designed and fabricated new booths and a front counter for the recently. Their goal a mix of retro and modern design to complement the eclectic vibe the restaurant is known and loved for! We choose a combination of local walnut and Espalier Green paint to tie them in with the trim color throughout the dining area. We also collaborate with on the countertop and for the local walnut.

This is one of our favorite designs. It is an extending version of our mid century inspired Curved Dining Room Table in cherry. (It’s also available as a fixed length version) This piece features curved aprons, elegantly tapered legs and a hand rubbed oil finish. (30”tall x 42” wide x 65” - 105” long.)

This open concept kitchen remodel in Charlottesville, Va features large windows and skylights balanced with dark soapstone countertops and original oak floors. The cabinets were designed to add a touch of color and maximize the space under the staircase in this modest sized kitchen. Renovations were done by Ross McDermott of Little Big Building Co.

Custom designed ash pedestal table. This hand made piece has a beautiful 50”x 96” grain matched ash top, a sturdy angular pedestal base and a hand rubbed oil finish.
