Well it's that time of year where couples are engaged for their next step in life...Appointments showing Ms. Vows and Venue are the best! I hear the best little stories about their lives, their goals, mostly their love story. As we walk thru the barn I hope they feel the peace she gives, I hope their visions come to reality, I hope we can make "their" day the best it can be.
Little girls dream of this day about all their life, boys not so much. I just wish they would realize there are going to be "hiccups" but those are the moments remembered. Enjoy the "look" as he watches you walk down the aisle, embrace that last hug from your daddy or whoever may give you away, smile when the preacher messes up, don't give into the pressure of everything "has to be perfect". Not one person that attends comes to critique the details. They are there for the love and support, not only for your day but for the life you are creating as a couple.
We hope all our couples that have Ms. Vows and Venue booked and those that are thinking about booking have the best life has to offer!!! May God wrap his loving arms around each and every one of them and let's get 2025 started !!!
By the way this photo is of our now 5 grandchildren aren't they all beautiful/ handsome!!

Wedding weekend — getting all spruced up to make “their day” special. Good ole pine straw, it’s to dress things up, cover imperfections, makes places look all fancy. In the days, years ahead the bride and groom will need lots of “dressing up” those bad days with smiles and a whole lot of love shared between them. Their life will be full of imperfections that make their bond stronger. The “fancy” moments will give them the strength to carry on. As long as they keep in touch with Faith, family, and friends, life will be good for them with support from each…
Ms. Vows and Venue so ready for wedding season to begin, she was smiling this morning with all her new pine straw covering her imperfections, she may have gained a little weight over the holidays!!! 😉

This wedding season makes our lives so much more interesting. Just a sneak peek of last weekend’s wedding. Amazing how the photographer captured the sun going down perfectly.
Bless their hearts for what it took to get this day to turn out perfect. The groom was in a terrible accident, a tractor flipped over on top of him while loading. Luckily he survived, but was still not very mobile on “their day”.
Never had a more “patient” bride with everything that was going on, even when things were a little hectic.
So when going to check on some things with my son in law who helped so much this weekend, the best part about owning the venue— you get to sample the “goodies” made for the wedding!!!! Oh my!!!
I was extremely glad the weather could not have been more perfect. Ms.Vows and Venue was the gracious hostess she always has been, the bride and groom left happy.
Their lives as one has started a little rocky, but oh the stories that will be told in the years to come about “their wedding day”!!!
We wish Caitlin and Matt many years of a life built together on Faith, love, lots of laughter!!!

I decided today that my favorite part of “weddings” is meeting the bride and hearing all her ideas, dreams and especially the way she looks at the groom asking for his approval or input…
So much “hope” for their future, not just for their special day. I really like discussing her thoughts on Ms. Vows and Venue, always something new and exciting.
I’m careful to give advice, it needs to be exactly what they want for their day. I do encourage it needs to a fun day, don’t sweat the small stuff. Enjoy your guests as they enjoy the food, as well as the dancing!!!
As the bride walked up this afternoon, I admitted I am officially old... Before they walked up I spent 15 minutes watching 2 birds fight over who was going to sit on top of this bell!!! Bird watching!!! Who would have ever thought it???

2014 — before a stage, before chandeliers, before tables and chairs, before fairy lights, before bathrooms, before she was a true wedding venue.
Ms. Vows and Venue was a working barn but for a few months she was cleaned out for the very first wedding for our daughter.
Here almost 8 years later one of the ladies who first decorated her for that wedding will be helping to host a rehearsal dinner for her grandson. What a small world.
Congratulations to all who were engaged over the holidays. We hope to be hearing from you and get those dates booked early!!!

So today I had the pleasure of running into one of Harlem’s best couples — about to celebrate 63 years of marriage. Of course I had to ask — how in the world and you are still laughing with each other?
They have raised successful children/ almost have all the grandchildren grown, now on to 5 great grands…They have spent hours at ball fields in the heat/ cold/ rain and probably snow if it happened supporting not only their children but all of Harlem’s children. They bleed red and black, and they truly have the community in their hearts.
You can find them every Sunday morning at FBC—being faithful to God, as well as being examples to their children and all who come to know them.
They worked hard and very deserving of a life of retirement enjoying growing old together surrounded by love ones. For years I have driven by their house and at least one night a week their house is full of family fellowship with good food. ( It was all I could do not to stop!)
I wish all our couples that are beginning their lives together could sit with these two and ask about their longevity… God/ family/ fellowship and a whole lot of love for others as well as their own!!!

This was too beautiful not to share from this weekend’s wedding… just a small indication of how everything turned out on a “Rainy night in Georgia”…it felt like it was raining all over the world… and it was still perfect!!!
