I must admit, I was always scared to build a Murphy bed because I had no idea what went into it. This was my first shot at one. You be the judge, but frankly, I think I nailed it. If you agree, please share!

There's so much that went into it. This is my design people, put together one piece at a time. Underneath that beautiful Tricorn black paint is actual solid rift sawn white oak. I love everything about it. Pull out shelves on each side to be used when the bed is down, Usb outlets behind the bed, LED lights under each shelf to light up the art that will go on display and some big storage overhead for comforters and pillows when bed is not in use.
When not in use, it's just an ice conversation piece for this home office.

I'm specially loving the two-tone look on this African Mahogany vanity I made for a very special couple. I made sure to carry on the grain pattern throughout the drawer fronts and got a color match on the metal hardware to use to paint the black cabinet. Notice the matching floating shelves!!
I also waited until all the plumbing was in place to build the wrap around drawers to be able to maximize the storage space and use every inch available. Thats one of the benefits of having something custom made, you choose every detail to make it unique. Simple, Bold, Custom.

I have to start off by saying that pictures don't do justice for this build. It's something a bit different. The goal was to make this piece stand out in a totally bright room. The piano alone made a great impression, and we took a risk to carry that same black to this unit and aohh my, it looked amazing. Black is a very tricky color to get right, materials have to be perfect, joinery immaculate, without that, you couldn't get as nice of a smooth clean finish on that black paint.

Im sharing with you a pretty old project I never posted back in February of last year. This became the centerpiece of the room. I love how the lighting brought this to life. The recessed speaker in the middle, the doors with faux drawer fronts to mix things up a little bit and the ship lap behind the tv made this one of a kind.
Always looking forward to adding my special touch to my creations.

Here's a small project I had completely forgotten about. I like it because it shows the potential when you have custom work by Ray's Custom Woodwork.
I provided a place to drop the wires from the tv to the game console, cable, etc so everything can be kept within the unit and out of sight. Figuring out the design to make it functional and still look good is always a challenge, but that's why I love what I do.

So here's a novel, hope you read it all.
This is a shout out to all my clients that have gotten me where I am today. I've gone a long way from when I started it's all because of you. I've been booked at least 6 months out  for some time now. Some of you have waited for up to a year, I'm sorry, & thank you. I see you.
For those who I havent met, my followers, & future followers, a little about myself.  Im just one guy trying to keep up. Simple, humble, but creative. I enjoy what I do & always open for the next challenge.  Im self-taught, been doing this for about 5 years now.  Im the sales man, the advertizer, the book keeper, scheduler, accountant, designer, builder, finisher & installer.  My favorite, the collector. 🤪😁 Paydays are always fun.
I'm a wood worker, but an artist first.  I take pride in my work, every project has a unique touch.  My approach is to make your idea better than you imagined it so that you're truly satisfied with your investment.  There's so many opportunities for creativity that i can see when others can't. Its fulfilling when I can make it work.
I work from home, my shop is in my 2.5 car garage, it allows me to enjoy time with my family, I make my own schedule & deadlines,  yet for some reason I'm always behind.  My shop is small & ridiculously organized, well insulated, heated, air conditioned, I have a tv where I watch all kinds of stuff while I work, (I've gotten really good at multitasking so i don't recommend this for everybody).   I don't see my boss, ever!  hehe. I have 3 beautiful kids, a badass Marine son & the sweetest twin girls. 2 dogs,  2 cats.  If you thought i was bragging, I HAVE THE BEST WIFE EVER!! She's cute, short, smart & an amazing cook.  She works full time & still holds us together. She's been behind me 100% +1 every step of the way.  Behind every successful man is a wife nagging on how things should be done.  Haha. No seriously, I am a perfectionist because of her.  Im blessed with lots of love.  Its because of that, that I love what I do.  I have the support & my fan crowd that keeps me motivated.  For past & future clients, this is to you. I look forward to meeting you & working up something special.

I made this built in desk for a boys room inside one of the closets. I love how the military green paint turned out and how it fit so well into the space.
The cork board tiles were not consistent so I decided to lay them out in a checkered pattern which actually ended up looking pretty nice.
