A bookshelf for Ernesto and Lindsay!

Built from oak and poplar, designed and painted to complement an existing bookcase that they had.
Dowel and Rabbet joinery. 70x32x10.

I’m particularly proud of the stain work for the shelves and though I try and urge not to paint wood, it really worked for this project and I’m happy we went that route. This was a super fun build for two super awesome people! 10/10

Today’s the day!
Excited to finally give my godson (age 10 and already a vetted shop helper) his Christmas present.
Featuring his own toolbox, stuffed with drivers, levels, glue, a tape measure, safety glasses and more PLUS this awesome birdhouse project (pre-cut by me) and a set of step by step instructions in order to put it all together.
Not pictured are the pre-drilled holes to make assembly that much easier for him to do.
We aren’t going for technical prowess here folks, we’re going for a level of fun that fosters the urge to build going forward.
I’m realllly excited about this.
I’m thinking about adding this to the repertoire going forward as well, which is also really cool.

The tangram is a dissection puzzle consisting of seven flat polygons, called tans, which are put together to form shapes. The objective is to replicate a pattern generally found in a puzzle book using all seven pieces without overlap. Fun f or all ages, but especially integral in the young and challenged for improving motor function, memory, language expression and spatial awareness.
These beauties are a set of walnut (the goose) and a set of cherry (the pig). The board is book matched cherry with walnut border. I’m obsessed with the combination. The board shown in the photos is relatively smaller than these tangrams would come with but the larger board was not ready for photos just yet! This particular set is finished with a urethane for easy disinfecting, but can also be made with a truly non-toxic finish for safer play but less easy cleaning.
Excited to see the use these are already getting in a friends OT Field Work program. Her kids love them! Can be custom made to fit specifications of wood, finish and size. Get in touch!

An absolute pleasure of a build has come to an end! This modern take on a classic Adirondack chair is made of Cedar and Walnut and features walnut plugs for accent and structure.
It was dimensioned slightly smaller than the average chair to serve the intention of it being the smaller framed clients personal chair. No big burlies allowed here!
The cedar will receive a yearly coat of Timber Oil, a jar of which was included with the handoff, while the walnut rails were finished with an outdoor urethane and should last for years to come.
10/10 would build again. Get in touch!
