Look how beautiful this board is... Look how that red of the Bubinga wood pops... Look at the amazing contrast between it and the Poplar...
Look up on this board and know that I hate it with every ounce of my being... It started off as a brisket board... 3 inches thick... 27" long, 16" wide...
And then, things started going... Poorly... One of the handle cutouts went wrong and I had to chop 3 inches off the length. Then it went wrong again, I managed to salvage it that time without sacrificing length, but it's not perfect... Also when I was trimming the sides, it jumped on the table saw so I had to take 2 inches more off the width than I wanted...
And then we got to the step of adding the Blood Trough (Juice Groove if you prefer) and s**t just got worse. FIVE times the carving of the groove went wrong and I had to plane off 1/8-1/4 of an inch and try again. After the 5th time and having lost 1.5 inches or so of thickness I said the hell with a groove.
So now we have a 24"x14"x1.5" groove-less brisket board that will be available at Nederland Farmers and Artisans Market tomorrow morning at a very discounted price. Please come buy it so I can stop looking at it and remembering all the pain it caused me.
