Happy ! Here's some fun facts about marble you may not know:
Origin: Marble is formed from limestone that's been transformed by extreme heat and pressure from tectonic and volcanic activity.
Colors: Marble comes in many colors, including white, black, brown, red, green, pink, and gray. Impurities like clay, silt, sand, and iron oxides create layers and patterns that give marble its unique colors.
Properties: Marble is dense and thick, which gives it a high thermal mass. This means it absorbs heat from outside before it affects the temperature inside a home. Marble is also heat resistant, able to withstand temperatures of up to 329°F without breaking. However, marble is porous and can stain easily from oils, fat, and grease. It's also relatively soft, ranking between 2 and 5 on the Mohs scale of rock hardness.
