Fireplace makeovers seem to be the theme so far this year. This latest one recently finished was for my favorite 'customer' (and wife) and of course myself. We sold an existing bookcase we had in this family room and I currently have the entertainment center / TV cabinet shown in the 'before' pic for sale. I built the new wall cabinets shown and mounted the TV over the fireplace. The 2 dark cubby hole openings on each side of hearth will be used to store firewood in winter. All the power and comm wires had to be snaked through the wall to get to the TV location from the surround stereo receiver cabinet below. This has added more storage and display area as well as more family room space for furniture. Let me know if you are interested in a similar makeover or other cabinet or furniture project.
