The customer remodeling a house in a Historic location, found this 1800’s Heart Pine Cupboard in the garage, in 14 pieces. Fortunately, the old wavey glass wasn’t broken. We took it in and completely restored it to original. We had to make one piece of Crown molding, but we had some 100 year old Pine to work with. We also had to fabricate one hinge. The case, we put back together with original “cut” nails. The only thing not original was badly needed reinforcement to the Crown molding and the base. We also used West Epoxy on the joints (that won’t show), so it will never come apart again. No stain, just a clear coat of Sher-Wood Hi-Bild lacquer to give the look of the original varnish. The house will be a show place, and filled with colors. This brown piece will fit right in!!

…a few pieces we completed recently. The Chest came in Dark Cherry Red, we prepared the surface, primed, painted the drawer section Sherwin Williams Hi-Bild Everett Green, and the Top was left natural Cherry wood stained to a rich dark Wood Tone. ---- The Oak chairs came out of storage, they needed re-gluing, refinishing and new bottoms (sturdy chairs) ---- The White chair with Gold trim was originally a pickled finish, we updated it with Sherwin Williams Cloud White Hi-Bild, added gold trim then Clear Coated with a Medium Sheen. Such a pretty chair!!

This table came in 'round' with a couple of leaves, Jack glued the leaves to the half rounds, made it oval to accommodate longer slides for many more leaves. A ton of work, but great results. Pictured in the shop with All the leaves 15/18 feet long. Pictured in home with a few of the leaves. The corner cabinet was with the order and it restored nicely. Customer very pleased.

This Chess table is made entirely of White Oak. The dark squares are not stained, they were ammonia fumed to turn them dark. The table was in terrible shape, it took Jack four days of gluing. We have a vacuum bag, but the top was a little too large for everything but the Chess Board itself. We glued with West Epoxy Systems, so it will never come apart again!! Cool table, unique!!

… we repaired veneer, replaced veneer, re-glued case and finished natural per customer request. Topcoat is S&W Pre Cat Hi-Build, very durable. It’s hard to count how many types of wood used to make this piece. A great fit for the customers décor.

The small inlayed veneer piece is actually a Swiss Music Box. We re-glued the legs and lots of veneer, painted legs black then clear coated. I love the different wood used in the veneer. The second table came in a plain brown side table. We painted it black, had a local artist pin stripe the gold inlay and beading, then clear coated with S&W Pre Cat Hi-Bild lacquer. Tough finish!!

It's extremely difficult to repair a chair and keep the original upholstery, but Jack pulled it off!! Yay!

This French Provincial Credenza was painted in Sherwin Williams pre catalyzed Jitterbug Jade. The old finish had to be removed completely, and the doors and drawers fitted. Perfect color for the customers space. I just Love that name “Jitterbug Jade”!!

Jack and Ted Jr get full credit on this old Hitchcock that came in for total restoration. The bottom was removed for complete reglueing, the black was slowly removed from the artwork (to display the original colors), pictures taken, then completely stripped, sanded and repainted black. A new rush bottom installed, a local artist hand painted the artwork, then we clear coated with high gloss HI-Bild, at Customer’s request. Unique!!

Our customer wanted this old Pine Coffee Table/Trunk freshened up. We were able to get the Blacksmith at Old Salem to repair the metal hinges. The wood was refinished But not Over finished. A good look in her room filled with colors.
