Finally getting to get some wood work done after several months on a complete renovation project of a condo.

This is a live edge free floating desk I've been working on. The figuring in this slab is just plain sick! We decided to cut this slab at the split where it created a half moon void to run power cords and such. This will eliminate the need to run those on the face of the desk being that it is corner fit and free floating (no desk frame.) I hand finished this piece by hand burnishing it. I chose denim and the wood chips removed from planing to achieve this. Burnishing closes the open cells of the fibers by heating them up through friction. This is an old world craftsman technique that leaves not only a beautiful sheen and finish but a glass like feel to the touch. I will post more photos after this piece is at its forever home.

Pin oak coat rack, very unique grain!! This piece is definitely one of a kind as far as the grain goes. The price on this piece is $125 as is ready to hang, I can add any color initial for $25 more.

Custom cutting board that a buddy of mine commissioned me to make. He told me the colors he wanted and gave me some creative freedom with it. So I had to personalize it with his last name. 😁
I wish you could get the full effect of these pours through photographs and videos. There is so much character and color suspended in this predominantly clear pour.

This is a keepsake box that I'm making for a dear friend. She is my lifelong buddy's girlfriend and he asked if I could do something to preserve a rose from her son's funeral. I knew I could easily make a form and encapsulate the rose in epoxy which is super cool. However I was getting drawn in a different direction. I decided to make this keepsake box and design it to be taller than most. I will be placing the rose in the bottom and pouring resin over it. This will give her a special way to preserve the rose as well as have a memory box for any special things she wants to put in there. I cut all this wood down out of 2 1/2" thick black walnut slabs. This piece is 100% hand made, only using a table saw (to basically mill the slab) and hand tools. I'll post more photos once it has been poured.
