This is a sofa that was bought at a yard sale. At first glance it wasn't so bad, but then I touched it. Gasp! vinyl, yuck! It has a very solid frame, built like a brick house. I think I charged her by the pound as it was SO heavy.
As I was ripping it down it appeared to have been in a barn or some type of outdoor storage as it was wet inside. It even had mold spors growing under the arms!
The frame wasn't scratched and really nice wood, maybe mahogony? Please note the detail of the goose neck on the arms and the pretty feet (legs).
3 seats that had nice Marshall units inside. The heavy cotton batting was wet so it was replaced then wrapped in Dacron for that nice loft and fullness. That makes a very nice comfortable cushion, way better than foam.
The client chose a very heavy 100% cotton duck fabric, very stiff and a challange to work with. She also wanted double welt trim, every were.
She bought it to use for her daughter's wedding and is now avilable for lease for your function. She lives in Palatka Florida. PM me for details on how to contact her.

Thow back Thursday. I made this custom porch swing seat & pillows for a fellow who lives local and wanted this for his cabin in PA.

And another fellow called me yesterday from Alberta Canada for a project he needs done in January 2017. So I suppose you can call me international now :)

Someone else contacted me here that I met at a party years ago for dining chairs. It's that time of year. Maybe you need your dining chairs redone or want something done as a gift for Christmas.

Ok, summer is over. Labor day is the semi-offical end of summer. Kids are back in school. Now time for y'all to look around your home.
We had a blazing hot summer, did your patio/porch furniture survive? I had time to fix up my own porch at home and do this rocker that was a gift from a well satisified client.
Y'all should come on around or call and see what I can do for you.
Thanksgiving is not too far away. Are y'all expecting family? How does your dining room look?
I am very small, just a one man show. I do not take credit/debit cards. I do not have a web page, yet folks still find me.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you. I'm an early bird, usually have coffee on, or later in the day iced tea.

Another from "Fabric to fabulous" project. Pair of chairs, original 1971. Not a thing wrong with them, not faded or worn. Solid frames and rather comfy. But they didn't "go" with client's new decor in her home local to me.
The photos don't do it justice as it was a nice fabric, wheat color, bit of texture. Cut and sewed like a dream. She allowed me to have "artistic license" and make them more contempory. Ditch the buttons and all that. I had her talked out of the skirts, but the one on the right was a swivel/rocker so w/out the skirt the mechanics would show.
And ripping them down was easy. Often when it's factory original there are WAY too many staples and such. This pair was like I'd do it, just enough to hold it stright and level and smooth.
She was so pleased she gave me a porch rocker! I had a seat cushion in my "stash of stuff" and another friend had given me the pretty cotton print.

I am a vendor for Charlotte Fabrics. My Charlotte representative came to visit the other day and brought 3 new books. This photo doesn't it do justice. The Crypton book has fabrics soft as "buttah" [butter] and all are stain resistant & anti microbial. Broad range of colors and textures.
Y'all really need to come see for yourself. And help me eat up the cookies he brought! I usually have a pot of coffee on, goes well w/ the shortbread cookies.

Hello 2016!
Here's a sneek peek at a project I've been working on. A pair of child size platform rockers.
They were a gift to client from her Mother ( I have met them both), and now will be passed down to her Grandkids. 4 generations of that family. Funny, the client is Mother to one of my daughter's friends from school. Love working in a small town where everyone knows some one, or is related.
They were broken and needed glue/clamp/refinish. And the springs on the bottom were wrong/broken. Once that was done, I upholstered it with fabric she bought from me. I'm a supplier for Charlotte Fabrics.

This poor old skinny chair had her clothes near falling off. We couldn't figure why the seat fabric was not there, just her calico undergarment.There was no evidance of any trim, and she needed to go on a diet, but in the opposite way. She needed some plumpness!
Often other chairs that come in here have to go the other way, loose some that bulk. Like 1 or more layers of fabric. A BIG no no in my business.

It's been a while since I've been here. I'm alive and well, thank you very much.
This is one of many things I've done since we last had a chat. Client had been talking to me since before Christmas last year. Neither the stars nor her schedual could align. She finally was able to bring it in. A standard size wing back she bought off Craig's List. But her cat didn't thik it was a chair, just a scratchng post!
She had this embossed velvet that if you look close has an alligator skin look. Nice and thick, good choice for this project. She needed it back in time for he Halloween party. Then she sent me this photo :)
I own the building I do my business from. I've had business tenants move out, one more fixing to move in. I'm in house every day, so y'all should call up and we can discuss anything you need, upholstery related :*

Ok, summer is over. Or so says the calendar, it doesn't feel like that here in Green Cove! The kids are back in school and now y'all have time to look around the home.
