Job duties:
- Upholster furniture from raw frames
- Re-upholster existing furniture
- Sewing
- Cutting
- Extremely detailed work (straight seams, upholstering with patterned material, making sure everything is centered 100%)
- Skills to pattern, sew, and apply materials
- Follow directions on work orders
- Stay on task to meet deadlines
- Make sure workroom stays clean and organized
- Must be able to work with all kind of textile - leather, vinyl, & fabric
Requirements:
- Must have at least 3-5 years of experience doing custom upholstery.
- Drivers licence
- Should have experience with a wide range of product types including chairs, pillows, and fabric paneling. Knowledge in automobile and boat upholstery a plus.
- Must have full knowledge of cutting and sewing (cutting and sewing with patterned/repeat fabrics).
- Could require lifting up to 75 lbs and carrying 40 lbs
- Bilingual a plus (English and Spanish)
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Great communication skills to keep projects running smoothly
- Organizational skills are a must
- Time management and punctuality are a must to ensure deadlines are met
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work with differing personalities
- Great attitude and ready for a challenge
- Willing to learn and grow with the company
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
- Background in upholstery/furniture design
- Must be available available Saturdays
