Owens Sawmill Open custom cut by the hr your logs Owens Sawmill is a family owned sawmill located just northeast of Grand Saline, Texas. It's easier than you think.

The sawmill was established in November 2010 by longtime home builder Danny Owens. Keeping with the tradition of building quality homes, Danny is transitioning his 40+ years in the construction business into milling quality lumber for the local community. Owens Sawmill currently offers three services to the community of East Texas:

[1] You Bring the Logs To Us - Want to make lumber out of your ow

n trees? All you need to do is load the logs on a trailer and bring them to us. Once you arrive at our location we will offload the timber and mill them while you wait. This option is great for those who lose trees during road or lake construction and want to gain more than a large burn pile. Local residents can also turn tree damage from a wind storm into cost efficient 2x4's. Whether you cut them yourself or use logs left for the burn pile, Owens Sawmill can mill what you need.

[2] You Buy From Us - Owens Sawmill currently has a small stockyard of 100% Environment Friendly lumber to cull through and purchase. The stockyard is open to the public during business hours and varies on the availability of measures and styles of wood. In an attempt to be environmentally responsible with local resources, Owens Sawmill has an agreement with Tommy Monk Tree Service to use their already cut timber as the primary source of lumber. In short, we are "recycling trees". The majority of the timber is native to Van Zandt County and varies by what is brought in. It is best to call in advance if you are looking for something specific.

[3] Cedar Furniture - Custom made cedar furniture is available for purchase next to the stockyard. Danny crafts each piece out of local cedar to make exquisite benches, chairs, tables, mantles and more. If you would like a piece of cedar furniture custom made to your specifications, feel free to challenge Danny's skills with your wildest requests. He can make it happen. Well, the sawmill has been in business over a year and is finally becoming an established service. Danny has an entire stockyard of lumber, cuts almost every week, and has plans to add on in 2012. Hopefully we'll have some new pictures and a few updates for everyone later next week.
