It’s finally beginning to feel like spring this week! We have been busy for several weeks already sweeping parking lots, some of our local towns, and fleet washing trucks. The snow is gone for now, winter is winding down, and that means sweeping season is right around the corner!! As we continue our nightly trash patrols and sweeping on select accounts, we have already begun doing a couple of early cleanup sweeps as well. Somebody asked me the other day, “it’s been a slow winter, what have you been staying busy with?”

Other than pushing the little bit of snow we have gotten this winter, we have been very busy in the shop. On the flip side to a slow winter, we have been blessed with lots of time to tear into our sweepers and perform planned maintenance. By spring, all of our sweepers will be ready to roll and be ready to tackle any sized job that comes our way. We still have a few things to wrap up in the next few weeks, but we are looking forward to our summer season being right around the corner.

Thanks everyone for a great sweeping season! We started sweeping on March 15th and did our last regular sweep this Sunday, December 20th. Was definitely one for the record books having that long of a season. Now we look forward to a few good months of heavy snowfalls, and hopefully another early start to sweeping in 2021 as well!

Even though this week is shaping up to be absolutely beautiful weather wise and feels like an extra week of summer, we are soon approaching another beautiful season, winter!!! Okay, so you may be booing at that comment, I know not everybody enjoys winter. You know how you can enjoy it more though? Let us take care of all your residential and commercial snow removal needs.

Thinking about having some landscaping around the house done next summer? We can help you with that as well! Although our schedule is busy the remainder of this fall focusing on our sweeping and pressure washing, and getting ready for our winter services, we would love to talk to you and see what we can do for you next summer. Here’s a project we did last week: removal of the old beds, build up and grade slope away from the house, install new underlayment/block edging/ rock beds, fill in and seed low areas of the yard, and replace the old mailbox with new the new setup. At the end of the project, we also pressure washed the driveway!

Well it’s been a long time coming, but I’m happy to announce that Mathsen Sweeping is now offering snow and ice removal services for this coming winter!!! I have been actively involved in the commercial snow removal industry since 2011, and have seen firsthand just how nasty our Red River Valley winters can be at times. From my early years of being an equipment operator, to managing a large crew and fleet of equipment, servicing everything from small commercial accounts, to large box stores, multi unit apartment complexes, to single unit residential, medical facilities, and much more, I have learned what it takes to treat customers right and service their unique winter needs. At Mathsen Sweeping it’s all about the customer, without you we are nothing. We will be focusing on commercial properties, and can tailor a winter package that is specific to your site and needs as the customer. Hey everybody, it’s crazy to think how fast this summer has been flying by!!! We’ve been busy doing our regular nightly sweeps, been on a few large construction projects out of town, doing some parking lot striping, and on-site pressure washing.
