I am a part-time Psychiatric Nurse and re-finishing furniture is one of my hobbies along with gardening and taking care of my 4 dogs and new baby Jason Paul as of 9/5/2020. Our Story

The Princess and The Peacock Design and Decor, founded in 2011, is a complete one-stop shopping destination for at home furniture painters! The Princess and The Peacock founder, Sarah Nichols, is a Wise Owl Paint Retailer, SaltWash paint additive Retailer, Cling ON Brush Retailer, and also carry Re-Design by Prima Products. We offer Furniture Painting Workshops in our Hudson store, Custom Furniture Painting and Restoration and Home Decor items at two locations in Central MA.

In 2011, as my husband and I were renovating our home, I came across sentimental pieces of furniture from his family that he repaired and I restored. From there my love of furniture and painting began! I am also a Nurse, now only part-time so I can enjoy what I love to do and it allows me to have time to own and operate a store, which has been a dream come true. My business name comes from my love of peacocks and my princess dog, “Gypsy”. We have a hobby farm and part of the farm, of course, are 4 Peacocks full of color and personality! We also have 6 dogs, who are my children, 4 goats and different types of birds.

With hard work, dreams do come true! We now have our own storefront; an amazing showroom and workshop located at 312 Main Street Hudson, MA 01749. We share a beautiful space with “A Piece of Heaven”. Our store is a full service furniture restoration shop offering workshops and custom furniture painting! You can find Wise Owl Paint, SaltWash paint additive, Cling On Brushes, IOD products, Amazing selection of K***s, Scrubby Soap, Home décor, Antiques, and Furniture that has been painted or restored. We are open Tuesday through Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 12pm-5pm. Workshops are held several times a month and hours vary to accommodate all schedules. Make sure you book your workshops or custom paint requests in advance.

We offer customized painting, repair and re-finishing for your personal furniture pieces in need of revival! All of our pieces are hand painted and sealed with top quality products to withstand heavy use.
