Top Furniture has a long HISTORY ~ of providing quality furnishings and appliances to the North Country of NH, VT & W. ME ~ backed by our Service Department and our long standing Guarantee. Top Furniture had it's beginning in 1950 on 8 Main Street, Berlin, NH by Alfred and Margaret Tourangeau. Starting with the pledge of offering affordable home furnishings with weekly payments, "Top" and "Mom T"

built their business one customer at a time. In 1961 Top decided it was time to become a shopping destination and became the first retailer to move off Main Street and onto the Berlin-Gorham Road. Top Furniture offered everything from appliances, home electronics, giftware, diamonds, furniture and outdoor "toys"! In 1990 we completely renovated to keep up with the changing needs of our customers while continuing to offer home furnishings, appliances and home electronics. Top Furniture became one of the few furniture stores to still offer all three in one location!

2006 was the beginning of our newest adventure! We built a new 42,000 square foot store and 9 level warehouse across the street. Though it was hard to leave the old store and the memories, we are now able to display more product, deliver more quickly and efficiently with the same tremendous service of our loyal staff.

Following our recent announcement regarding the store’s closing, we want to clarify a few points to ensure a smooth transition for our customers:

Existing Orders: Please rest assured that all outstanding orders will be fulfilled as planned.

Appliance Warranties: Your warranties remain fully valid. Since warranties are held directly through the manufacturer (such as Whirlpool or GE), you simply need to call the number located on your paperwork. They will coordinate a technician for you.

Parts & Service: If you are currently waiting on a specific part, please contact our service department at the store for an update.

Our team is still here to help. If you have any questions we will be open March 5th at 10am. We can not answer any questions in regards to the event as our team is busy getting everything ready. We do not have the time to answer everyone at this time. Our store hours are posted on the page. What we can tell you is things will move fast and it will be busy. Please be patient with us while we get everything ready.

Since 1950, Top Furniture has had the honor of being a part of your homes. From the first sofa for a new couple to the dining table where your family gathered for decades, to being the first ones to bringing tvs to the area by train, we’ve cherished every story you shared with us.

After 75 years of business, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors. This isn’t just a store to us—it’s three generations of memories, and saying goodbye is bittersweet.

We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your loyalty and support. We hope our furniture continues to hold a place in your homes for years to come.

Our Store Closing event begins Thursday March 5th at 10am. We will be closed until then. We invite you to stop by one last time to say hello and find a final piece for your home.
