If You Were If You Were The If You Were product line's concept was created by Deb Lemon, a mom who searched high and low for a tool to explain this to her children.

When she came up empty-handed she decided to write If My Mom Were an Octopus, a tale that depicts mom as Harriet the Octopus, who with her eight arms is able to juggle many tasks at once. Yet even Harriet becomes overwhelmed with all the demands. While Harriet, who morphs into mom, finally collapses into a hammock after trying so hard to do everything, she still finds time to wrap her weary, but l

oving arms around her child. In If My Dad Were a Daddy Long Legs, Harry runs himself ragged trying to do everything with his kids, all at the same time. In the end it's clear that even if Dad were a Daddy Long legs, he still couldn't do it all, all at the same time. The If You Were line of products features a free interactive iApp, plush animals, coloring books and – of course, each characters story available in EBook, soft cover, and hard cover format. The accompanying plush animals encourage children to interact with characters as the story is read by placing attachable objects referenced in the stories. Illustrations are done by the author's sister, artist Caroline Intemann,
who's beautiful, buttery watercolors burst from the pages.
