From faded to a beautiful print 🌳

This tufted chair-and-a-half and ottoman duo recently received a complete transformation in our shop. While the pieces still had great bones, the original fabric had seen better days and they were due for an updated look. Our customer chose a rich plum print that brings new life, personality, and warmth to these classic pieces. 💜

Not every day we get to upholster a piece and help it find its forever home. 🏡

This custom bench was such a fun project from start to finish, and we loved bringing new life and personality into it for its new owner as they moved into their new home. Pieces like this remind us how much a little creativity can completely transform furniture. 🪑

Meet our summer interns, Lilly (left) & Rory (right)! 👋

These twins are back for their second summer with us and we’re so excited to have them around again. They’re currently majoring in business and accounting at Iowa Western Community College, and they bring so much creativity, hard work, and enthusiasm to the shop every day.

They love sewing, have a great eye for detail, and somewhere along the way… they definitely caught the upholstery bug 🪡✨

Come web this ottoman with Lizz! 👋

Webbing may not be the part you see, but it’s one of the most important parts of upholstered furniture. 🕸️

Webbing creates the foundation for support, helps distribute weight evenly, and gives the seat its strength and durability. A good upholstery job always starts from the inside out!

The term “webbing” in upholstery comes from the woven strips of material used to create a supportive base in furniture. The word itself traces back to “web,” meaning a woven fabric or network of interlaced fibers. Early upholsterers used tightly woven jute, h**p, or linen straps stretched across furniture frames in a crisscross pattern that resembled a web or net, hence the name “webbing.”

Today, upholstery webbing can still be traditional jute webbing or newer elastic and synthetic materials (as pictured here), but the purpose remains the same: creating a strong woven support system underneath the padding and springs or foam.

These dining seats got a fresh new look and a much more comfortable feel!

The backs were still in great shape, so our customer chose to keep them and update the seats with a complimentary fabric and all new foam to replace the old crumbling cushions.

This set of 5 is now ready for many more family dinners and gatherings 🤍
