A century-old cabinet, originally crafted by the customer's great grandfather, was rescued from extensive water damage following a pipe burst in their cabin. It was the only item saved from the room. Our restoration team returned the cabinet to its original hue and refinished the brass accents on the doors, ensuring all mechanisms function properly. Before, during, and after photographs of a Jaeger Le Coultre men's wristwatch box manufactured in the late 1940s are presented. According to the customer, it was initially purchased at a PX on a military base in Germany by his father during the Korean War. The customer had entrusted me with restoring this item to gift it to his father on his hundredth birthday. Working on such a sentimental and intricate piece as this renders my job truly fulfilling, from meticulously removing and replacing all the velvet and padding to restoring the gold to its original state and applying the final coat of lacquer.
