🔥 Custom GatorStep Flooring – MD500 Helicopter Project 🚁

Another unique project out of the shop at Anchor Down Customs. This time we installed a fully custom GatorStep non-skid flooring system in an MD500 helicopter.

GatorStep isn’t just for boats — it’s a premium EVA foam decking system that provides:
✔ Exceptional traction (even when wet)
✔ Shock absorption and noise reduction
✔ UV-resistant materials that hold their color
✔ Custom CNC-cut designs and logos

For this helicopter, we designed and installed a precision-cut pattern to match the cabin floor, giving it a clean, high-end look while also improving comfort and grip for the pilot and passengers.

1987 Donzi 33 Crossbow – Full Restoration

This 1987 Donzi 33 Crossbow came to us as a tired classic in need of a complete overhaul. Our team at Anchor Down Customs transformed it from the hull up, blending modern performance and comfort with the timeless Donzi styling.

Custom Paint & Exterior Finish

We stripped the boat down and gave it a full custom paint job, bringing back the aggressive look Donzi is known for while updating it with a clean, modern finish. The lines and details make this 33’ stand out on the water.

Upholstery & Interior Upgrades

Inside, we performed a full upholstery makeover, including a custom-designed 3-person rear seat to maximize comfort and give the cockpit a unique, high-end feel. The layout was tailored specifically to the owner’s needs, making it both stylish and functional.

Flooring

We installed GatorStep flooring throughout the cockpit — durable, non-slip, and low-maintenance while adding a modern touch that ties the whole restoration together.

Performance & Power

The original twin 370hp engines were pulled and fully upgraded to 500hp each. With a combined 1,000 horsepower, this Donzi has performance to match its looks. To handle the additional power, the Velvet Drives were completely rebuilt, ensuring smooth and reliable transfer of power straight to the water.
