Occasionally we have the opportunity to acquire a particularly exquisite antique and this 19th century English mahogany drawer chest represents one of those rare opportunities. This commanding piece, circa 1860, was handmade with Satin Birch drawer fronts which were extremely popular during the 19th century. The original mahogany k***s, with large wooden threaded screws, are all present and in perfect condition. This rare occurrence coincides with the drawers being in wonderfully clean condition, both of which suggest very light use. All locks and escutcheons are present and each lock is stamped V👑R indicating manufacture during the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901).

The age, condition and authenticity make this piece truly remarkable. Come see us.

We feel blessed to be in the midst of such a vibrant design community and that vibrancy was on full display this weekend at Art by Design. From the wonderful collection of vintage lighters by Ashley Brewer to the “glimpse of home” by Anna Lattimore, everywhere was a feast for the eyes. Other favorites included a wonderful collaboration by Anne Canale and Tim DiSalvo, a stunningly layered design by Meg Johnson and a color and texture masterpiece by Miller and Company.
