Fifteen-year-old Jessica Roach was last seen in the afternoon of Monday, September 20, 1993, riding her new bicycle near her home in rural Georgetown, Vermilion County, Illinois. About one-half hour later, her sister saw Jessica's bicycle lying in the roadway. About six weeks later, on November 13, 1993, Jessica's decomposed body was found across the state line, near Perrysville, Indiana. Jessi wa
s an average 15 year old. It was normal for her to come home from school and watch "Gone With the Wind"( for the millionth time haha) or go for a ride down the one lane country road that the family lived on. But September 20th 1993 wasn't just an average day. Jessi made it to the end of their road, not even a 1/4 mile from the house and was stopped and dragged from her bike in less than a minuet. In less than a minuet a monster, Larry Hall, took her and drove away. How long she suffered with this monster, no one but him knows. Then he murdered her and left her body in a cornfield, where he thought she would never be found. Jessi wasn't his only victim. But she led authorities to dig into him and look for the evidence to give names of others and to try and charge him for their deaths. This year will be 20 years that Jessi has been gone. She is gone but not forgotten. So in her memory and name, Myndi has put together a scholarship. It will be awarded to a student at the high school Jessi attended and didn't get to graduate from. After Jessi graduated she to wanted to study to become a Jet Airline Pilot. We want Jessi's story to be heard and to reach out to children and families everywhere. We want to bring awareness to them.
