Thinking about building a new deck but not sure where to start?

A new deck is a great way to add outdoor living space to your home, but there are a few things to think about before getting started!

Here are a few things to consider when planning your deck:

1. Think about how you'll use it. Will it be a space for grilling, entertaining family and friends, relaxing, or a little bit of everything?

2. Decide on the size and layout. Think about how much space you need and how the deck will connect to your home and backyard.

3. Choose your decking material. Do you prefer the traditional look of wood or the low-maintenance benefits of composite decking? We use Wolf Home Products decking, which offers different styles and colors to help bring your vision to life!

4. Consider the finishing touches. Railings, stairs, and other details can make a big difference in the final look and function of your deck.

5. Find a contractor to help bring it all together! From planning to choosing materials and installation, we're here to help you through the process.

Not sure what you want yet? That's okay! Sometimes all you need is a starting point. 😊

A fresh look without changing the kitchen layout! ✨

We’re seeing more and more kitchens with the bi-level countertop, a style that was especially popular in the ’90s. While it once added a distinct separation between the kitchen and adjoining space, today that raised level can feel like lost countertop space and a visual barrier.

For this kitchen makeover, we removed the bi-level countertop and replaced it with a single-level, continuous countertop, creating a more open feel while adding more usable workspace and a larger, more functional surface for gathering and seating.

Of course, this kitchen received a complete makeover with new cabinets and flooring, too but we wanted to highlight just how much of a difference changing the countertop configuration can make.

If you have one of those ’90s bi-level countertops, you may not need to completely change your kitchen layout to make the space feel more open and functional.

Sometimes, a simple countertop change can completely transform the way your kitchen feels. ❤️
