Saturday Morning Reality Check. ☕🪵

​Some weeks the shop moves fast, and some weeks my MS reminds me that 'slow and steady' is the only way to win the race. Today is one of those steady days.
​I’m grateful for every order that comes through because it allows me to work at a pace that respects my health while still providing something valuable to my neighbors.

Saturday morning in the shop! ☕🔨

​It’s been a busy week here at the shop. I’m currently finishing up a few orders for the outdoor chairs and getting the frames ready for some garden beds heading out across Garner next week.
​I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has liked, shared, and messaged me lately. Woodworking is my passion, but the community support is what keeps the lights on and the blades spinning.
​When I’m not at the bench today, I’ll be taking some intentional time to rest and recharge part of that 'Wisdom of Adaptation' I’m always talking about.

The best things in life are grown together. 🌻

​I’m in the shop today getting orders ready, but I wanted to share a behind-the-scenes look from when my son, Ryan, was helping me set up the garden beds for our own house.
​I designed these raised beds for two reasons:
1️⃣ Accessibility: No kneeling or bending. It makes gardening possible for everyone, regardless of mobility.
2️⃣ Durability: Heavy-duty wood and galvanized steel built to handle the NC sun and rain.
​Seeing Ryan get involved reminds me why I do this. I don't just build boxes; we build foundations for family memories and healthy lifestyles.

Tuesday in the shop is all about the 'pivot. 🔨

​In woodworking, you can have the perfect plan, but then you hit a knot in the wood or a blade gets dull, and you have to adjust. My journey with MS has been a lot like that. I had to pivot from building massive decks to building intentional, handcrafted furniture.
​I’ve learned that a pivot isn't a failure it’s just a smarter way to reach the finish line. Today, I’m prepping the lumber for a new entry way bench. It’s slower work than it used to be, but the focus on detail has never been sharper.
