My project for the foreseeable future! The good thing is the finish is almost none existent so hand sanding is not so bad. Hand sanding is necessary due to the very thin veneer that I don't want to blow though.

Got the first coat on the table base. I am priming with a paint that is a shade darker than the desired color. Mainly due to the fact that I only have half of a jar left of the wanted color. Will be taking the top back to raw wood in order to stain the top.

Beautiful Refinished Bedside Tables Painted in a Nautical Blue color From Dixie Belle Silk Mineral paint.

The tables are constructed of solid Maple wood and are quite heavy. They each have 2 drawers and a shelf and are made by Sprague & Carleton, makers of fine furniture. From Keene, New Hampshire.

Sprague & Carleton was founded by Frank L. Sprague and William Carleton in Keene, N.H., in 1899. Although some sources say the company closed in 1967, that’s just the date one of its divisions closed. Patriot Industries bought Sprague & Carleton in 1968 and continued to operate the factories in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. According to a 1988 newspaper, the factory in Keene closed in November 1988 because of foreign competition. Many U.S. makers of wooden furniture went out of business because of the lower cost of foreign furniture and the demand for more modern furniture.

They measure:
25.5 inches tall
16 inches deep at the base
13.5 inches deep on the top
21.5 inches wide at the base
21 inches wide on the top
