My biggest mistake early on?
Trying to figure everything out by myself.
When I started in this trade at 23 years old, I was surrounded by old-school refinishers who guarded their knowledge like it was a state secret. Asking questions often led nowhere because many saw every new refinisher as future competition.
So I learned the hard way—through mistakes, ruined projects, wasted materials, and years of trial and error.
Looking back, I wish I had someone willing to share what they knew.
The good news? The industry is different today.
I’ve learned that helping others succeed doesn’t take anything away from my own success. I can give you the exact tools, products, techniques, and shortcuts I’ve spent 22 years learning, and you’re still not my competition. You’ll build your business your way, in your market, with your own strengths.
That’s why I teach.
If I can help you avoid even a handful of the mistakes that cost me years to learn, then sharing the knowledge is worth it.
Don’t spend the next decade trying to figure it all out alone. Find someone who’s already where you want to be and learn from them.
It will shorten the journey more than any tool you’ll ever buy.
If you want me to help you, send me a message! I love getting messages from you and respond to every single one myself
