“Our minimum diameter we put through our lathe is 5 ¼”, which is very small. At the end of the day, we virtually have zero waste out of our primary production. Everything is used, the bark, the chip residuals, saw dust, and even the residual products that that typically would not have a market; it can be used to generate electricity through facilities like our co-generation facility are generating enough power to satisfy the load of about 6,000 homes.”

We could geek out on CLT talk all day, every day. Ultimately, cross laminated timber and it’s innovative new application is good news for our industry.

Check out this new tiny house designed by out of state college students, but built outside of Eugene. It’s purpose?... to educate elementary aged students of the modern use of forest products. 🏠 🌲 📚

Prefabricated panels of cross-laminated timber were used to build this micro cabin in the Pacific Northwest, designed and built by architecture students.

CORVALLIS, Ore. — A decade-long study of cutthroat trout in the Oregon Coast Range has found that logging practices conducted in accord with the Oregon Forest Practices Act had no adverse impacts on coastal cutthroat trout and coho salmon populations or movements.
