Why are the Gahanna and Westerville school boards so opposed to Lifewise Academy and children being provided alternative education options to be smart and close to something they believe in that helps them be better citizens? Is it fear that there might be a movement for true school choice?

It's seeing the kids with warm clothes for winter that makes it all worth it. Our Knights Of Columbus Church of The Resurrection New Albany Council 10941 Coats For Kids coat drive is underway. It's hard to know hardship until you see it. We donate our coats locally. If you have any coats that your school age kids have outgrown since last year or would like to donate new coats for kids without, please message me.

The Gahanna American Legion Post 797 is officially kicking off a project to bring the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall to the city in October of 2025. We are asking for small donations to help pay the cost of getting the wall here and looking for volunteers to help while it is in Gahanna. Visit gahannavets.org for more information.

Did you know Gahanna is a Purple Heart City and has been since the mid-2000's? Every Veteran that was wounded or killed is presented with the medal. Many service members have more than one. Some service members were awarded only one but there were many that made the ultimate sacrifice and were killed in action or died of their wounds later.

Every member of the Gahanna community should acknowledge all veterans for their service and especially those wounded or killed while serving our country.

If you haven't already done so please don't forget to signup for the 2nd Annual "Walk In Our Boots 5k" that is being held again this year on April 20th starting at the Gahanna Veteran's Brick Memorial to support close to 100 local, previously-homeless Columbus area veterans. Our Gahanna American Legion Post 797 has signed up for the next year to provide food for the emergency food pantry, access to clothing and coordinate transportation these vets need while they are getting back on their feet. Did you know that Gahanna American Legion Post 797 has adopted a facility that provides housing for our local homeless veterans? This facility is run by a large, reputable housing group but they are limited in what they can provide. So, we are attempting to help with an emergency food pantry, clothing and transportation long-term for these veterans. Our Post would like to ask for your help, especially this holiday season, and ask that you consider a donation to help us help them. We have a partnership with the Gahanna Veterans Memorial group who oversee the Memorial Park and put together all of the programs on Memorial Day and Veterans Day and they host a page for us to provide easy access to donating to this cause.
