We’re all set up at Columbus Winterfair! We’re in booth 944 with cutting boards, charcuterie boards, and furniture, all made from trees sustainably harvested from our own land.

A little tree for a little forester! This is an area where we previously cleared invasive species like tree of heaven. When we see hardwood saplings like this oak coming up, we flag them so we can easily spot them when the leaves are off. During the winter, we trim the brush around these trees so they have the best chance to thrive.

A few exciting finds from the springtime woods: trillium, ramps, and an enormous ant nest! Trilliums are especially slow-growing plants, and the presence of their flowers is a sign of a healthy, undisturbed forest. This species, the Large White Trillium, takes at least five years to grow from a seed to a mature flower-producing plant!

UPDATE: Art on the Alley has been POSTPONED until May 19 due to the weather. Still in New Philadelphia from 11 to 4. We'll be there with all kinds of cutting and charcuterie boards made with wood from our own sustainably managed forest. Thanks for supporting local artisans, small businesses, and community events!

Check out how much these trees we planted grew in 15 years! Those tiny white pines that are barely visible around Chris in the 2008 photo are now more than twice as tall as him. (And yes, he's still wearing the same coat!) Reforesting the strip-mined parts of our land is a long, slow process, but it's sure rewarding to see the difference it makes.
