Hi all. Have not posted for some time but have several before and after posts to show you. This one is a Barrister Bookcase the owner picked up in St. Louis at a used furniture store awaiting disposal. He was able to search the area and located the crown, base and 4 shelf units. The before picture shows the unit with the previous owner's painting job. The dark color is red and the inside was painted white. The after picture shows the piece in its restored state. The wood is oak and the glass doors all contain the original wavey glass. We believe the piece dates to at least the 1950's. We appreciate the opportunity to save this nice piece of furniture.

Hi All, posting a notice of our last show of the season. This show has something for everyone who enjoys/collects antiques and collectibles.

Another customer piece recently completed. This is a very old cabinet perhaps made of poplar. Some of the wood is full 1 inch thick material and completely assembled with square nalils. The staff of Crane Creek Antique Restoration struggled with this one when it was in process due to the weight of the piece. The "before" photo shows the very old yellow paint remaining. Not sure of the age, but very old perhaps late 19th or early 20th century.

Oak roll top desk. Our customer's grandfather used this in his blacksmith shop. Most glue joints had failed and an ingenious system of #9 wire held the piece together.

Back in the shop after winter vacation. Two before pics and one after. One of our Springfield customers told us the chairs belonged to his Great Grandmother which should date them late 19th or early 20th century.

Here is a Victorian baby carriage in original condition. A nice restoration project. Note steel wheels;

Here is a restored turn of the century dining room table with 6 - 11 inch wide leaves which stretch the table to 10'6". The table is quartersawn oak and stained to match the chairs which were purchased from the oak furniture store in Quincy, IL.

Coming in October. The Central Illinois Antique Dealers Show and Sale is scheduled for October 27 & 28 in Bloomington, IL The show will be located at the Interstate Center, Mini Expo Building. Take Exit 160 west off I55/74.
Saturday 10am to 5pm --- Sunday 10am to 4 pm.

We will be there with a good variety of restored pieces. Excellent variaty of antiques and collectibles at this show.

Just finished an onsite job in Springfield. Thought you might like to see the customers' home. Located on the outskirts of Spfld. Quite interesting.
