Another facade improvement grant is underway at The Frederick Center.

We are excited to share that a facade improvement grant has been approved for the property at 5 E 2nd Street. The project will include repairs to windows, doors, and trim along the E 2nd Street facade, as well as priming and painting all the woodwork. The masonry will be cleaned to remove a non-historic painted sign, helping restore and preserve the building's historic character.

Projects like this play an important role in strengthening downtown vibrancy, preserving architectural heritage, and investing in the long-term beauty of our community.

Yesterday, Downtown Frederick Partnership hosted a City Visit to Highlandtown in Baltimore with a group of downtown business owners and staff. We toured the Highlandtown District and learned more about the incredible work of Highlandtown Main Street and the Southeast Community Development Corporation. We also connected with local business owners during a thoughtful group discussion.

Together, we explored important questions shaping our business communities:

✨ What trends are you seeing?
✨ How are businesses pivoting and adjusting?
✨ What support is needed from Main Street and Arts District organizations?

Don't forget! Tomorrow night!

Downtown Frederick Partnership (), in collaboration with the Ausherman Family Foundation and The City of Frederick (), is pleased to invite the community to the Carroll Creek Refresh Community Workshop on Tuesday, May 19. This interactive session offers business owners, residents and visitors a direct role in shaping the future of one of Downtown Frederick's most beloved spaces.

The workshop will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Municipal Office Annex (140 W. Patrick Street).

Carroll Creek Refresh is a focused initiative designed to enhance, repair, and thoughtfully improve Carroll Creek Park. By assessing current conditions and identifying priority needs, the project aims to develop design concepts – including landscape enhancements and a future shade structure for the amphitheater – that reflect how the community experiences and values the space.

Interactive Workshop Highlights:
Workshop attendees will participate in a hands-on planning process, including:

● Survey Results: A first look at the data gathered from the Carroll Creek community survey
● Draft Concepts: Explore draft concepts for park improvements
● Public Feedback: An opportunity to share specific ideas on key elements such as plantings, hardscape, and shade

Event Logistics & Parking:
The West Patrick Street Public Parking Garage, located directly behind the Municipal Office Annex, will provide free parking for workshop attendees. On-street parking is also available.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Happy Hour Season is in full swing! Alive @ Five is THE outdoor summer happy hour you don’t want to miss. Happening EVERY THURSDAY through September 24th at the Carroll Creek Amphitheater from 5PM - 8PM.

We are looking for volunteers to help with a variety of tasks including:

- Pouring beer, wine & cocktails
- Working the front gate
- Selling drink tokens
