Here is closer look at the kitchen table and chairs. Both the school chairs and the pub style table are from England. And while I adored the school chairs just as they are (they have engravings from bored school children on them..love), I felt the table would be better off painted. I painted the table with ASCP French Linen, lightened up a bit with some Old White. The top is coated in a water based poly.

Back to showing some of the work we recently did on our house!....We had wood cabinets (they were that mass produced light/orangey colored stain) in our kitchen that I painted in ASCP Old White..It took three coats of paint, then I sealed it with three coats of a water based poly. It sounds tedious..and it was, but because I didn't distress or do anything else "fancy" to them, and because ASCP dries so quickly, it wasn't that bad, and the "change factor" was pretty dramatic in our kitchen.

Part of getting our house ready to put on the market involved me FINALLY doing all those paint projects for my own home that I had put off. So, even though these pieces aren't currently for sale, I thought I'd show you some of what I've painted for my home and how I did it. Here is the dining room...

Hi Everyone!! I've been out of touch with the facebook world for a while because around a month ago we decided to list our house and life has been a bit of a whirlwind ever since. I did manage to fit in painting a piece for a client. They bought this sweet dresser from City Farmhouse and asked me to paint it for them. I love all the details on this piece, and they also bought new handles, which I also painted but aren't pictured here and had me paint an end table to coordinate with the dresser which I'll have up on fb shortly. I've also been painting lots of things for the house, which I can't wait to show you!!

I have found a new love for marble top pieces this summer. This Turn of the Century Marble Top Chest of Drawers was hard for me to let go of (but I did and it's at City Farmhouse now). I love the sturdy nature of this piece with the delicate details. It has been freshly painted in a custom ASCP light blue/grey color with the details highlighted in an off white.

Kim and David at City Farmhouse found this sweet french style Armoire and asked if I could paint it for them. I happily agreed! I did a pale grey wash with white on the details. There are lots of shelves inside for great storage. It has been delivered to City Farmhouse and David is giving it his "run over" to make sure it is in tip top shape and then it will be ready to sell!

This 1930/1940's Credenza was previously being used as an entertainment center, but it could also work great as a buffet, kitchen island, or even an "over-the top" ornate changing table. This piece has a "Downton Abbey" feel to me, which made me love it even more. :) Freshly painted in ASCP in old white and delivered to City Farmhouse today!
