So I went ahead and added the black glaze over the brown stained cabinet and I love, love, love it. It went on like a dream and it really made it match the wall shelving. I have the first three layers on the faux copper top bar. The The first layer over the plaster was a coating of black chalk paint. The second layer was some clear top coat to seal it. And the third layer was some Meyalix paint by American paint company in a bronzy copper color. Once it all dries tomorrow or Wednesday I will dry brush some copper Mica in and maybe dry brush some Verdi green and then glaze it with copper glaze at the end. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Working on my latest project at the apartment in Michigan. I had Bob the builder put together some built in bookshelves and I designed a little bar area to go along with it using a Home Depot unfinished wood upper cabinet. I'm putting a faux copper top on it to match the table that I already did. It will have a built-in wine rack and wine bottle an wine glass wrack when complete. It's not quite finished yet but here's where we're at right now. I'll post final pictures when it's all complete.๐Ÿ˜Š

I know it's been a long time since I've posted anything so I'm working on my latest project that I call my hot tub time machine room. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I had to put my hot tub in a lower room of our business instead of on my rooftop as I originally planned. So the hubby's letting me take over an unused room and decorate it however I choose. ๐Ÿ˜ฒI decided to go with sort of a garden room look. I painted the ugly white walls a fern green color and the doors a darker jungle green color. I added some shelves with faux plants and now I am experimenting with floral wall transfers. It is still a work in progress so I will post the final after pics soon. FYI The lighting is pretty horrendous in this room right now with just fluorescent overheads so the colors are hard to photograph. I plan on getting some lamps in here later.

So this is the finished product for the gilding wax demo as well as the entire project. I remembered that you can use coconut oil to remove any excess as well as use it to clean your fingers after working with the gilding wax. It is super easy to use to remove any excess that you got on your project and then you can rub it in and it gives it a nice gloss.
