Say hi to the new guy. This is our new favorite breakfast table style. The top is reclaimed red and white oak from retired boxcars with a Danish oil finish to allow the natural beauty of the wood to shine. It's set on a sturdy frame of select pine finished with a dark stain for contrast. It's the perfect size too, at 30"x40". Coming soon to the Etsy shop! We've got other great products and projects coming up so be sure to give us a follow.

18-foot and approx 85-year-old reclaimed spruce pine beams in the house! Pretty stoked to be able to work with these and turn them into unique designs. Christmas in February? I think yes.

It only took one of the worst trips we've ever taken to get it, but finally got to southern Arkansas and loaded up this vintage spruce pine reclaimed from an abandoned fort in Missouri. Quite a history on these; and quite a journey to get them. Excited to make some great new furniture out of it! Thanks for all the support y'all!

On our way to Arkansas to pick up a load of very old reclaimed spruce pine. When you're in the reclaimed wood business sometimes you'll drive 5 hours to buy wood. Yessir. Yes you will.

Adaptability is key in business. We're growing a small business but we also have to feed our families. Our new angle is that we're gonna kick major butt on Saturday and finish projects throughout the rest of the week. Then at the end of the month we're gonna have an open house sell-off of whatever's left. Knocking some rust off right now, but big things are getting into motion around here and excitement is brewing. We've got some fun projects and pieces planned. Thanks for following our journey-- we went over 500 followers last week and that really bowls me over. Thanks for all the wonderful support.

Old Yeller is almost 10 years old but it's still carrying max capacity loads on its now squeaky, bent axles. Case in point, the (not pictured) large stack of pallets from the neighboring warehouse. Wagons are kind of like pets. They're old and cranky but you still love them. What's an old cranky pet that you have in your shop?

Sometimes things don't happen as fast as we'd like, but we're making plans for the new year. We've got a year and half under our belts and we've learned a lot, some of it the hard way. But what doesn't kill you, right? Ha! Bottom line, we're about this year and what it holds. There will be a whole new round of handmade goods coming your way soon! Ready for that sawdust to start flying again. 😎

Monday is delivery day. We bid au revoir to one of my favorite pieces, the "Frontier" coffee table, but it's going to a good home in Dallas, Texas. We're excited about the new year and believe it holds bigger and better things for Worksmith. Being a small owner takes a lot of work and being a successful one takes even more sacrifice and hard work but we believe it's worth it. We're thankful for all of our Instagram friends and support!
