Over 2 years the store has been open. We are no where near covering every idea we have, which honestly just means there is ALOT of room to grow and thats exciting...

However, we are now both mothers. She just had twins, and I have two young kids...

We are truly navigating business between fits and naps, diapers, nursing, school lines and pure exhaustion!! Getting a phone call in is hard right now, this is a new territory for us and hard is a understatement!!!

But if I have learned anything from being a mother to a 5 year old boy is that Spiderman teaches really good life lessons.. You will find the solution along the way and you come out so so so much stronger and so much wiser. When you reach a breaking point, it just means you have to grow into a better version of you and learn new things (Just like spiderman) 😆 Thats where we are.

Mothers always find a way...

P.S. How beautiful is it that we actually grew this beyond what we are capable of doing alone sis... And we are in a place that will teach us how to grow further.

Ok, just going to take a second to recognize that this business has changed alot in the last few years and im just now catching up... finding my place.

For 6 years I was restoring furniture in my garage and wearing sweat pants and baggy shirts nearly every day, and when I wasnt doing that I was nursing my son in unflattering clothes and surviving the day. So I just sort let myself go while building the business...

My sister and I opened this new store and she was coming from a modeling background, so she really carried that portion of the business while I focused on other things.. it worked for a while....

But now I find myself running a store for secondhand clothing and home decor and thinking how do I actually fit into this otherside 🧐

Then I see my daughter and she LOVES seeing a someone dressed up. She doesn't look at there age, size, gender, skin, languages, not of that... She sees the effort someone put into caring about their outfit and that inspires her... And it sorta clicked.

Flipstone is for everyone, because we are all at different stages and we are always changing and honestly our wardrobes do to as we transform into new versions of ourselves and have let go of old versions. Thats why thrifting is so important...Our clothing is a representation of ourselves and WE CHANGE ALOT through life.

So the video isnt to sell you this skirt or shirt but I hope you find the confidence to go and just play dress up and start to remember what you like or dont like so you can show up as yourself... and hopefully you decide to thrift a little along the way.

Ok I am kidding sorta...

I think the main reason people dont thrift is time...

If it was not my literal job I would not have the time to sift through a giant store every week either. Thats why we made our store different... smaller, more curated, easier to find what your looking for and have things to help aid in the second hand lifestyle... (and one day definitely want to dive deeper into that)

Flipstone was built by a family that has truly lived the second hand life for generations. Hand me downs, repairing old pieces and being creative with what we had, choosing to give things new life instead of throwing it away. This wasnt "oh we will make a lot of money" this is just our families lifestyle in business form.

Instead of another 20k sq ft thrift store we said why not only put out things worth people time. In our store you wont find a lot of shein or low quality items and if you do its $3 or less... Majority of donations go to a huge fill a bag event we have. We used to do it event month but it will be changing and we will be mixing some new events in to keep things fun for you guys, and us!

Just some girls trying to use what our momma taught us, its not trash if someone else could use it. 🫶

Hello August. 🙃

Lets have some fun this month in store, school starts back this month and we havent done daily deals in a little bit. I think some will be permanent and some will change next month.

We are also bringing back the Flipstone in September, application for that will be up monday August 3rd.
