Teak margin workflow: 3d scan, layout margins on laptop, cut parts on cnc router, install! I used to make templates with hot glue and doorskin then trace and cut by hand. Now it's all digital. The learning curve is pretty big for me going from hand cut to digital, but I'm getting more streamlined and efficient everyday.

Farewell to the crew of M/Y Formosa
After three incredible months working aboard Formosa at Derecktor Fort Pierce, it's time to say goodbye as the yacht sets off on her next journey.

The crew has been nothing short of amazing—friendly, welcoming, and a pleasure to work alongside. From steak dinners to jet ski rides, we made some great memories.

My scope of work included replacing all the crew area floors with composite decking and epoxy coating, along with a custom teak refit around the whirlpool bath and top deck. Using 3D scanning and my CNC router, I was able to custom-fit every detail—from margin boards to smaller projects throughout the yacht.

It’s been an honor to be part of this project. Wishing safe travels to the entire team—captains, officers, stews, engineers, and deck crew. You’re all top-notch. Until next time!

I believe this footboard came from my customer's grandfather, who originally made this toddler bed. Over the years the headboard went missing, so I was asked to make a new one. I think this should work just fine.

For the first time in a long time, I'm stressed with work. There's a lot to do in limited time. There's worse things to complain about, I know this, but, "Skilled" assistance would be highly appreciated and compensated (with own liability insurance preferred). I think my wife is ready for a break as well.

Refinishing this oak table for the fire department. Added inlay patches and the artwork is coming Thursday. It will have an epoxy bartop finish. Doing a full pour tomorrow, the next day vinyl and another full pour and it's done.

I've been doing yacht work so much lately, I forgot what pure joy I receive from building solid wood furniture in my woodshop! Thanks to the phone ringing, I've picked up 2 custom furniture jobs. This one is a 2" thick solid white oak table. It's only 30" across, but it's got some weight to it. It's getting a dark brown stain and a durable matte conversion varnish finish. Building things that'll outlast me by generations gives me the kind of purpose that breeds a lasting gratitude. How can I not be thankful for these gifts of life. Hope you're having an amazing Wednesday!! (Just a side note, I wrote this all by myself without a.i., same as all my other posts. I am me. 🤪)
