I grew up with Ikea, Scandinavian design and with parents who value quality design and style. When I was old enough to move my own bedroom furniture around, I started a ritual of re-imaging my bedroom about once per month. During these early days I developed a clear sense of my own style, learned how to make the most of pieces I already owned and how to re-purpose things. My own "interior invento
ry" always consisted of solid long term pieces and things I love. Right now my favorite pieces are ranging in cost from $3.99 and up. That's because every item, every area, every room has been carefully selected and it’s value is not connecting to cost. I am a collector of sorts, collecting memories, stories, textures, colors and inspiration. When I go places I bring home some pieces from my trip. This quote from Nate Berkus about sums it up…

Philosophy:
In order for us to thrive, we have to get to a place where we “Love Where We Live”. This does not have to do with expensive taste or living in the right neighborhood. It has to do with home “form and function” and a sense of “feeling good” in our environment. There are phases in everyone’s life where we are on the move - living in and under circumstances that are temporary (I have been there too) - but everybody needs to “Come Home”. Our homes have to be generally clutter free and have some kind of basic organization to function fully. My philosophy does not have anything to do with square footage either. Small spaces sometimes turn out to be just what we needed and what gives us a deep sense of belonging.
