Has it really been THREE YEARS???
It feels like just yesterday that the shop door was painted purple. Or was that 20 years ago? Time has completely been turned inside out since 2019.
Here we are, at our 3-year anniversary of opening simpatico. It's almost unbelievable we've made it this far. I could go on about all the wild events that have taken place in a relatively short span of time, but I'm sure you're all as ready as I am to put them behind us. So how about this - let's focus on YOU and all you've done to keep this little dream of mine alive.
This community is quite literally the only reason I can still call myself a small business owner. Seriously. If there is anything I have learned since our grand opening in August of 2019, it's that sometimes no matter how hard you hustle, it won't matter (and that maybe I'm finally past my bangs phase). Things will happen that will rock your world and tank your business and you can't do a thing about it. But once those things happen, what's left? The people around you. And that's where you come in and I am so, so, SO grateful to each and every one of you for your support.
So as a thank you, we're throwing a party! And not just us, the whole block is celebrating the end of summer with sales and music and food and makers up and down the block. We're all ready to P. A. R. T. Y.
FOOD!
Most of you know by now that during quarantine my husband started a smoked meats business called Hooligan Smoke Club (https://www.instagram.com/hooligan.smoke.club/) . It's been on hold while he focused on being the new owner of Metavinyl (https://www.instagram.com/metavinyl/) , the record store he and a buddy bought in Downtown Santa Cruz. But he'll be in front of the shop serving up his delectable dishes until they sell out so get on over and fill your belly! I'll post the menu on social media on Friday.
ON-SITE ARTISTS!
Atelier Apotheke (https://www.atelierapotheke.com/shop) will be at the shop selling her magical stained glass treasures including her essential oil shelves and dream catchers. If you haven't seen her work yet, get ready for it, it's so so special.
And local potter Paula Prekowitz, who you have likely seen at past events, will be set up with all her spectacular handmade clay beauties. She's a local treasure!
