Harvest season is full of memories, hard work, and traditions passed down through the years!

Matt Harrison shared this photo from October 14 of Kathy Rausch riding along with Mark Recker as he combines their ground along IA Highway 187 between Arlington and Fayette. After last year’s harvest, Kathy and Al retired from farming. Kathy always ran the combine while Al handled the grain cart, making this photo a special reminder of the many harvest seasons they spent working together.

Thank you, Matt, for sharing this glimpse of harvest season in Fayette County with us!🌾

We all know pork is delicious but do you know how nutritious it is?

Pork has an array of nutritional benefits:

🐷 It is an excellent source of Thiamin, Niacin and Vitamin B6 which help regulate metabolism.

🐷 It can help strengthen bones, promote energy and help build red blood cells.

We were set up this afternoon at North Fayette Valley for the Upper Iowa Cross Country Conference, serving middle school and high school athletes chocolate milk and cheese sticks! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🥛 These nutritious snacks provide protein, vitamins, and nutrients to help athletes refuel and recover after a hard race.

Farm-fresh foods like dairy play an important role in keeping our bodies strong and energized. We’re proud to support our local student-athletes and cheer them on as they give it their all!💪🌾

🍿🌽Who knew there was so much to learn about a little popcorn kernel?!

Today, Starmont 3rd and 4th graders explored the differences between field corn, sweet corn, and popcorn before diving into the science behind what makes popcorn pop!

Ag in the Classroom gives students the opportunity to learn more about the agriculture behind everyday things, even one of their favorite snacks.🍿

Happy National Farmers Day!

Today, we celebrate the farmers and farm families who give so much of themselves to keep our communities fed and agriculture thriving. Behind every harvest are long days, early mornings, late nights, and a whole lot of hard work, dedication, and heart.

Farming is more than a job. It’s a way of life, built on generations of hard work and a commitment to providing for others. Today and every day, we are thankful for the men and women who make it all possible.

To our farmers here in Fayette County and beyond, thank you for all you do. We see your hard work, we appreciate your dedication, and we are so proud to stand alongside you!🌽

They’re officially out in the community!🌾

In honor of National Farmers Day on October 12, Fayette County Farm Bureau put together a little something to say THANK YOU to the farmers who work so hard to feed our families, support our communities and keep agriculture moving forward.🚜

Our National Farmers Day goodie bags were delivered today to local co-ops around Fayette County, where they’ll be making their way into the hands of farmers throughout harvest!🌽

So if you’re stopping by your local co-op or out in the field and spot one of these bags, know it’s just a small way for us to show our appreciation for the hardworking farmers who make such a big impact right here at home!
