After and before….quite a transformation! We were thrilled to bring this mid-century Drexel set back to life.

We’ve had so many repairs and refinishing jobs in the last few months that we haven’t worked on much of our own inventory. We did manage to get this beauty out last week. We acquired this at an estate—it was a bit rough and our plan was to paint it. But after the top revealed lovely tiger mahogany there was no covering this lovely piece up. Sanded and refinished to reveal the gorgeous wood beneath. Original solid brass hardware was polished to a nice shine. It’s already been delivered to its new home!

This lovely antique oak rocker came in to the workshop wobbly with broken and missing spindles. We fashioned replacement spindles and reinforced the arms. It’s now ready for many more years of use! Our client was thrilled to give this to her husband for Christmas.

This beauty was rescued by our client from the local recycling center. Oh my gosh, it had been painted and then discarded, only for our client to recognize the beauty. This is a Hans J Wegner J 16 Rocker, likely from the 1970’s, one of Denmark’s most iconic pieces of furniture. We stripped, repaired, scraped to bare wood and lightly sanded. Lastly we used Danish oil for a hand rubbed finish. Our client was very happy with the outcome.

Now this was a fun project! A client of ours asked us to rebuild this antique spool display case, used in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s by merchants selling thread. It was quite the challenge but so worth it. Rebuilt drawers, installed glass, shored up the frame and voila, it is now ready to be put to use again.

Enjoyed meeting Jonathan Edwards very much! After, during and before photos of a pair of quartersawn oak Limbert Arts and Crafts arm chairs that were damaged during a move. Happy to restore them to their rightful beauty. He even brought a copy of his new album which we are excited to listen to.

We saw the potential in these beauties right away. The last photos show the before, with water damage and some splitting. Reglued, refinished and headed to their new home tomorrow.

Project rolled out of the workshop (literally!). This was a custom order for a repeat client. She wanted the desk and table to match for her new home office. Ready to deliver! Lots of great stuff in and out of the workshop in the last few months. Servers, end tables, dining room tables, an old captains table and a funky bentwood rocker. Took in some repairs and custom orders that we are working on restoring. If you have a piece that needs some TLC or a refresh message us!

Another busy week in the workshop. Got this beautiful sideboard finished, prettied up a gorgeous Stanley MCM credenza, delivered a custom plant stand, and have multiple repair/refinish projects going on.

Busy week in the workshop. Finished a custom mirror order, rebuilt a nightstand for a repeat client and staged my favorite kitchen and dining set yet! Love the Maine Country Cottage fabric. Next up a commission bedroom set, some more mirrors and a custom plant stand.
