Hi! We’re Simon & Jessica — your hosts at Fairplay Coyote Cabin 🏔️🌲
Our story goes all the way back to 1997, thanks to a shared love of music (specifically The Cure 🎶).
We met online… before “meeting online” was even really a thing. Simon was in New York, Jessica was in Texas — and by 1998, we were married in Houston, TX.
Not long after, we started a rock music apparel company (BandTees.com) while Jessica finished her nursing degree and worked in healthcare.
Over time, our path led us to North Carolina, where our love for homes and hosting really took shape. In 2006, we bought a 100-year-old mill house, completely gutted it, and rebuilt it from the ground up. It became something really special — and eventually our first short-term rental.
Fast forward to 2021…
Simon had always dreamed of Colorado. We were actually planning to build — but then we randomly drove past what is now Coyote Cabin and saw the for sale sign.
One showing later… we were in love.
So in 2022, we took a leap — sold our North Carolina home and started a new chapter here in Fairplay, Colorado, where we now split time between Colorado & Texas.
Today, we still personally manage Coyote Cabin with a small team, and we care deeply about every detail of your stay. Creating a space where you can truly relax, unplug, and feel at home is what we love most.
And yes… the music never left us 🎧
