Most Fairhope kitchen projects come down to one countertop question, quarried granite or engineered quartz. We field it almost daily in our Coastal Stone & Cabinetry showroom on South Greeno Road. Most homeowners who ask us already like the look of both, and want to know which one is easier to live with. Upkeep, heat, humidity and cost are where the two differ, and what we know about them comes from the kitchen countertops we fabricate and install every week.

Quartz or granite for a Fairhope kitchen? Compare sealing, hot pans, coastal humidity, cost and daily care, then see full slabs in our showroom.

Baldwin County’s climate offers enough warm months to make an outdoor kitchen a genuinely functional extension of the home rather than a seasonal novelty. But designing an outdoor kitchen that holds up to the specific conditions of the Gulf Coast, the salt air, the UV intensity, the heat and the tropical weather that rolls through seasonally, requires a different set of material decisions than an interior kitchen renovation.

A guide to choosing weatherproof outdoor kitchen countertops for Baldwin County homes, covering granite, porcelain tile and quartzite with insights from Coastal Stone & Cabinetry.

In Baldwin County homes where bathroom footprints are frequently modest, particularly in older construction and secondary bathrooms throughout the home, a well-designed vanity top and a layout that maximizes every inch of available space can transform a utilitarian room into something that genuinely elevates the daily experience of the people using it.

We are so proud to be recognized as the July 2026 Business of the Month by the Better Business Bureau Serving Central and South Alabama.

Congratulations to our July Business of the Month, Coastal Stone and Cabinetry!🙌🎊

At the BBB of Central & South Alabama, we have the chance to work with so many great businesses throughout our communities, and it’s always special to recognize companies that have built a reputation of trust over many years. Coastal Stone & Cabinetry is your premier destination for exceptional stone, cabinetry & flooring on the Gulf Coast. They have been in business since 2004 and have been Accredited for over 6 years!

Coastal Stone & Cabinetry combines their creative expertise with their dedication to serving with excellence, but they don't stop there. They work alongside Baldwin Preparatory Academy and Baldwin County Career and Technical Education to make educating local teens in the community a priority. Every year they sponsor and volunteer at the Baldwin Girls Build Summer Camp through Professional Women in Building which is a subsidiary of Baldwin County Home Builders Association. "We believe this is a vital part of workforce development for our industry," said Co-Owner, Stephanie Hale.

Along with their commitment to educating the next generation of workers, they are involved in the community in many other ways. They are consistent supporters of the South Alabama Land Trust and very active members of the Baldwin County Home Builders Association and Professional Women in Building.

Join us in congratulating Coastal Stone & Cabinetry on this recognition and thanking them for their continued dedication to quality, trust, and the communities they serve!
