Designing and building beautiful kitchens! Creating a new cooking, entertaining and family experience is our specialty. Take down or open a wall (or two...or more), incorporate dead space, reallocate space for great functionality and better traffic flow, and make sure the end product is aesthetically amazing. Here's our lastest...
Client's goals:
- Inspire the cook of the house,
- Create an open concept,
- Get their family to gather around the cooking area for some family time...while DAD is cooking! 🙂
A couple Design elements to address the goals:
- Removing walls! We eliminated a wing-wall that separated the kitchen from a small butler pantry area to allow for an outside corner wrap-a-round. The result was more usable counter space and cabinetry, a more airy and open concept, and a beautiful, extended run of cabinetry. Bonus...had enough room to now fit the wine fridge - previously sitting in the dining room - under the counter and have it displayed as guests enter the kitchen. Perfect spot for platters and drinks for party guests.
- Serious appliances for a serious cook. Gas cooking, add in a 6-burner "double-wide" oven plus a griddle, and a hood with plate warmers and a powerful 1000cfm exhaust blower and you satisfy the goal to inspire the chef. To make this a reality we installed 10" round ducting to the exterior and installed make-up air ducting (per code) in the basement for the commercial hood. Buon appetito!
- The island/hub of family life. Design a custom island that provided both storage and room for 5! Done!! Unlike row seating at the island we provided them with a more cozy design where the seating area was a "U" shape so that the family can face each other.
