For the holidays this year, I took on a special project with a close friend. Shawn Kaley brought me this idea a few months ago, wanting to surprise his mother for Christmas. This coffee table has been in the family for a long time, and this year it got a big upgrade, courtesy of Shawn and the shop. Shawn designed and built a replacement top from air-dried black and english walnut stock. Some of his work is captured here. Congrats Shawn, your work looks amazing. I am very happy to have been a part of this special project.

Looking through some pictures today and realized I never posted this desk. Made this back when lumber was reasonable. Welded 2x2 steel tube base and a distressed and faux aged pine top.
