One of my favorite sofa sectionals in the most interesting home - the Proclamation House. Designed by State of Kin⁠ as a light-filled oasis, which can easily switch into entertainment mode. ⁠Both the interior and exterior of this home is abolsutely stunning and true creative master pieces in their own right.

From the street in Western Australia’s Subiaco, Proclamation House appears like a single story. Yet once inside, the olive-toned render and confident curves that wrap the exterior blend into soaring, double-height interiors, designed by State of Kin. ⁠

While clearly modern in its incarnation, this family residence draws on the suburb's history. “We reinterpreted the local vernacular in the design, exaggerating some of the features and proportions to create a contemporary yet sensitive response to the context,” State of Kin designer Alessandra French says.⁠

Moving from the outside to the inside, the earthy finish transitions throughout the interior. “The singular use of olive-toned render unifies the exterior and interior, creating a feeling of immersion and obscuring boundaries,” French explains on the materiality.

It’s been a while since I posted anything here. I felt like I needed to take a little creative break and get some clarity about where I’d like to be going: more inspiration, furniture design, trade sales of various interior furnishings, a mixture of all the above? We shall see. In the meantime, more inspiration from an amazing source: the renovation of a historic Amsterdam canal house of Framework’s founder Thomas Geerlings . It was build in the 1640s 🤩

totally obsessing over the latest feature at // I might need to get that book trio.

“Habitats: City Feature • Driven by a clear vision and strong collaboration, Carlotta Residence in Sydney’s Double Bay reflects the clients’ personalities and captures the urban feel of the cities they have previously lived in. Raw and exposed materials played a dominant role in the industrial chic brief, with using concrete, steel and American black walnut. On the inside, created spaces with comfort and warmth.

This dining room designed by .studio has ALL my attention today // cocooned with oak wooden panelling and wooden beadings, it creates a cozy space at the heart of the home, a Parisian apartment. A vintage dining table from gallery is perfectly aligned with the door opening; above it a large Japanese lamp. The walls are adorned with art sourced for our new studio project .

👉🏻 Dazzled by the landscape of Baja California, a Mexican peninsula with arid reliefs, the American interior designer .boudreau.studio modeled a timeless refuge for her family, where the shadow of Georgia O’Keeffe hovers and Luis Barragán. Here's a peak of the latest work by for the uber cool label . A very inspiring project inside a stunner of a building 🧡🧡🧡🖤 The whole process is so inspiring that we will post another one tomorrow to follow up with some pictures of these pods in the making. The process of the design always reminds me of the saying: "Don't focus on the destination but the journey." ... at least somewhere along those lines the saying goes 😉 As designers we have to deliver but we learn so much on the path to every solution.

Song’s first flagship is housed in the ever-so-handsome 350 George Street, in the heart of Sydney. True artists, the brief from our clients was for this interior to explore their philosophy of ‘accordance through contrast’.
