‼️‼️Well folks. It hasn’t been easy. At times it’s been down right exhausting, but we made it another year. Today marks the 2 year Anniversary of STX Archery & Outdoors in Edna. ‼️‼️

To our loyal supporters….Thank you for continuing to help us and keeping this dream alive. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

2 years ago we embarked on a journey. A journey that would lead to some really good times as well as some really rough times. A journey that led to a road that had not been traveled. A journey that saw a family of bowhunters and target archers come together to form what we all know as “STX Archery”. From 2025 Business of the Year on the high end, to talks of closing and bankruptcy on the low end, we truly have experienced the highs of highs and lows of lows this year. But no matter the circumstances, the STX goal has been the same throughout. Become the best damn bow shop in the south. To some that goal has been achieved. To others, it hasn’t and probably never will. No matter which side of the line you stand on, our promise to you stands tall.

We don’t quit. We never will. The STX Family stands Strong and United and we will continue to serve you as long as we have air in our lungs.

This year for the 2nd Annual Holiday Hangover we are making a key change that we believe is the correct move.

This year we will be removing the Cubs Division and replacing it with a “13U” division.

The rule for this division will be simple. On 1/2/2027 , in order to shoot the 13U division, you must be 13 years of age or younger on that day. It does not matter if you turn 14 on 1/3. As long as you are 13 years old at the start of the Holiday Hangover, you can participate in that division.

This year we also will be running 3 Shoot-Off Lanes. We anticipate this change to help the 1v1 format and speed things up there towards the end of the night.

The Official Formats for shoot-offs along with rules and regulations will be announced within the next couple of weeks.

For the Main Qualifier, we can say that it will be:
The Vegas Shoot format with No Mulligans

If you shoot in the Bowhunter Class (STX Bowhunter) you will be given a 5 point handicap for the Main Event Qualifier.

STX Bowhunter Class Qualifications:
- No Lens or Magnification
- Stabilizers less than 15” total length
- Max Arrow Diameter of 6.5mm
- Axle to Axle Restriction of 35”
- No Blade Rests

I have to give a HUGE shoutout to The Cleaning Bee! Every single time they come clean my shop, they do an AMAZING job! 🙌

And can we talk about these floors?! 😍 The floors at our indoor range have NEVER looked this good! With all the foot traffic we get, keeping them clean is no easy task, but somehow they have them looking brand new every time!

One of the things I appreciate most is how reliable and dependable they are. They show up, get the job done, and I know I can count on everything being cleaned right. That means a lot when you’re running a business and already have a million other things to worry about!

If you own a business, office, shop, or anywhere else that could use a good cleaning lady, I HIGHLY recommend The Cleaning Bee! 🐝🧹✨

🔥STX Archery & Outdoors Field Staff Highlight🔥

Today we’re talking about Mr. Jay Wimberly!

We’ve know Jay since STX was in Inez under the previous ownership. Once we gained Jay’s trust he hasn’t let another shop touch his equipment. Jay currently resides in Inez, Tx and shoots under the STX Brand with Pride and Passion! Jay was a former 1996 Olympic Finalist shooting an Olympic Recurve and won The Vegas Shoot in 1994 under the Olympic Recurve Class. Jay knows what it takes to perform in the big moments and he’s no stranger to the game.

He’s married to Tessa Wimberly and they have two awesome kids, Karston and Sawyer. Jay has supported STX for years and we’re ecstatic he’s joined our Field Staff to continue supporting us in whatever ways he can.

This man is a stone cold lights out shot with a bow. He hits what he’s aiming at and he does it with passion with the company of his family and friends. Bowhunting presents a challenge that trumps r***e hunting in every way and Jay is all for it!

Field Staff Hunter - Jacob Dawdy

Jacob currently shoots and hunts under the STX brand out of Victoria, Tx. Jacob is a big hog and turkey hunter but above all else, a devoted husband, father, and family man. He’s experienced some serious success over the last year on the 3-D course and inside hunting woods, as well as some awesome strides on the indoor side. Currently hunting with a Mathews Lift and shooting a Darton Sequel 35 ST2 for Indoors, Jacob has the full arsenal at his disposal and stays committed to the craft.

Jacob is Married to his Wife Chelsea Dawdy. They have 2 kick ass sons, Lawson and Laken. They’ve been an integral part of STX success and growth and we’re looking forward to the upcoming hunting season!

🔥Elk Season is kicking off. Followed by Deer Season. Then Turkeys! Jacob is about to be busy!

🥇 Laira absolutely DOMINATED the shoot-offs, taking home 1st place in the Bowhunter Division! 🔥🏹
