Lakeland Mills began manufacturing quality wooden products in 1928. In 1991, Lakeland Mills was purchased by three long-time employees.

Lakeland Mills manufactures quality cedar log furniture for the home and for outdoor living and manufactures quality barn wood style furniture and log furniture for inside the home as well. Lakeland Mills continues to improve, redesign, and develop styles that provide customers with the most unique, highest-quality furniture at the lowest possible price. The product lines expanded to living room s

ets, bedroom furniture, dining room tables and outdoor living furniture. The outdoor furniture is manufactured from simple, clean-peeled cedar logs because of its natural resistance to rot and insect infestation. The custom furniture is crafted from rustic logs with unique character features including burls, gnarls and beetle tracks. Lakeland Mills designs custom pieces that families will cherish for generations. Lakeland Mills supports Michigan by purchasing everything possible from local suppliers. Lakeland Mills is concerned with the environment and utilizes trees that would normally be discarded from the log home industry.

Today we pause to remember September 11th, 2001—a day of unimaginable loss, but also of incredible courage and unity. “We will never forget” is more than a phrase. It is a responsibility to honor the lives lost, the sacrifices made, and the lessons learned. We cannot erase the evil of that day, but we can choose to carry forward the resilience and compassion it inspired.

Yet looking at our world today, we risk forgetting in a different way. Too often we let anger, division, and violence guide our actions. We’ve drifted from meaningful conversation into shouting matches, from debating with reason into fighting with feelings, and from listening with respect into condemning with judgment. We honor sacrifice not by repeating cycles of hate, but by giving of ourselves—time, patience, compassion—to build a society where good can overcome darkness.

If we truly mean “never forget,” then we must do more than remember tragedy. We must reject violence in all its forms and recommit to truth, respectful debate, and unity. Let’s learn to talk again, to listen again, and to choose courage over fear. That is how we honor the past, and that is how we create a better future together.

"Here is a photo of the completed swing this week. The swings are so comfortable to sit in! Anticipating using the CF 85. We had been looking for a quality swing like this for some time. It is positioned to overlook the lake but also to observe the swim dock to the left when the grandkids are down there.
