Thank you, Niles Peacock, for the fantastic dinner - and your passionate support of SOUND Behavioral Health.

Our Impact team had so much fun celebrating our successful year with you and your amazing team at NPKB last night.

Grateful to you and all our community partners who are helping SOUND open more doors to hope, healing, and recovery for our community. Especially the ones with such a delicious menu!

Seahawks, Kraken, and Winter Olympics - oh my! No one will be scrambling faster than the KING 5 sports team to keep up with the packed winter season ahead. Wishing my friends Chris Egan and Tony White the best of luck with all their coverage - and hoping you manage to stumble across a decent karaoke bar or two along the way.

Community partnerships never looked so good!

Thank you to our incredible friends at Flora and Henri for their fabulous sip ‘n shop fundraiser in Seattle’s Pioneer Square last night to benefit Sound Behavioral Health.

And thank you to all our friends, old and new, who showed up on a stormy night to shop in support of both Sound and Seattle’s downtown merchants. You make doing good look good! ❤️

There’s an old saying in TV: never work with kids or animals. Too unpredictable. But we also know taking that gamble can pay off in TV gold.

While working with Amy Hall at the Fulcrum Foundation to brainstorm a social media awareness campaign for back-to-school season, I was determined to find something creative. Something that tapped into the energy and joy emanating from these elementary school classrooms in the Archdiocese of Seattle. Something that actually made people stop scrolling and smile.

And I knew just who to call for the assist: acclaimed Seattle storyteller and one of the funniest guys I know, Jim Dever. No one interviews little kids (and many grown ups, for that matter) better than Jim.

Many thanks to Jim for the charming end result, Fulcrum’s “Tiny Tales” video series. And kudos to my fearless partner, Amy, for always being up for a fresh, fun marketing idea. I think our little gamble paid off.

Bravo to Sound Behavioral Health’s Mobile Rapid Response Crisis Team (MRRCT) for the prominent role they are playing in this critical expansion of mental health services in King County:

“As part of a massive mental health care expansion, largely funded by a $1.25 billion property tax levy, the county is creating a mental health-focused response system driven by the 988 su***de and crisis lifeline, mobile crisis teams that respond to emergencies in person and low-barrier centers dedicated to providing walk-in care.”

King County has embarked on a massive mental health care expansion. But adding new dispatchers, new responders and new health care centers takes time and trust.

Mental health took center stage at Seattle’s SIFF Cinema Downtown last night for a private screening of Kenneth Cole Productions new film, “A Man With Sole” - the inspiring documentary about designer Kenneth Cole’s lifelong mission to ignite social awareness and change by putting ‘cause’ before ‘commerce.’ The film was co-hosted by Nordstrom and SIFF and included a Q&A with Pete Nordstrom and the Man with Sole himself, Kenneth Cole - who spoke passionately about his current mission to destigmatize mental illness through the formation of his new organization, The Mental Health Coalition. Cheers to SIFF and Nordstrom for supporting this event - and to my colleagues and fellow mental health advocates, Eddie Pasatiempo, Hans-Eric Gosch, and Annie Alley, for making time on a busy Monday to join. Change begins with powerful conversations. Sound Behavioral Health was honored to join last night’s event - and is eager to help carry the conversation forward here in Western Washington.
